The Associate of General Studies degree provides an educational plan for the student to create a personalized program. It allows the blending of both career and technical and transfer courses without the constraints of specialization. Transferability of this customized degree program depends upon the courses taken and the receiving institution.
There must be at least 15 credits of GT Pathways courses in the 60 credit hours of the degree. Credits earned over ten years will be evaluated on a course-by-course basis. Courses must be numbered at or above 1000 to apply towards this degree.
A grade of D will count toward an AGS as long as the cumulative grade point average of 2.0 (a C average).
At least 15 of these credit hours (25% of total credits) must be earned from PPSC.
If you intend to transfer with your degree, consult with your destination institution, your academic advisor, and take Guaranteed Transfer Pathways (GT) courses to increase transferability. Note: verify if your destination institution has a language requirement other than English, as that might influence the electives you choose.
