Business Administration, BAS

The BAS in Business Administration provides students with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage operations in various business environments. The degree emphasizes the application of Business principles and concepts and incorporates the development of skills necessary for management, such as critical thinking, problem solving, effective communication, quantitative analysis, organizational efficiency, global awareness, leadership, teamwork, and understanding contemporary technology.

Before applying for admission to the BAS in Business Administration Program, students must complete or be nearing completion of an Associate degree in Business Administration or a similar degree. Sixty or more credits from the Associate degree will be applied toward the BAS in Business Administration.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the Business Administration degree program, students should be able to:

  • Evaluate complex business problems and systems, including Human Resources concerns
  • Use quantitative methodology with data analysis, interpretation of financial statements, and strategic business decisions
  • Distinguish cultural differences and their implications for business operations and management
  • Analyze foundational knowledge in accounting, economics, finance, management, and marketing in application of concepts and theories
  • Execute practices rooted in core business disciplines such as accounting, management, marketing, finance, business law & ethics, business operations, organizational behavior, communication, and innovation & change
  • Distinguish leadership qualities such as motivating others, resolving conflicts, and achieving common goals
  • Evaluate opportunities, risks, and innovative solutions to business challenges
  • Use methodologies to evaluate and manage human resources.
