The AGS Secure Coding program teaches basic programming and secure coding technologies, as well as secure computer program development for personal computers, mobile devices, databases, and Internet and data communications.
The Associate of General Studies Degree in Secure Coding prepares degree seekers for transfer to a university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or to serve as an AGS Degree credential for entry into the workforce at an entry level. If transfer is desired, please check with the university of your choice to assure transferability of courses.
Requirements
- 60 credit hours minimum of course work
- A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 (a C average)
- Students must take the courses designated for this the AGS Secure Coding degree plan. Exceptions must be approved by the department chair.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the Secure Coding AGS Degree, degree recipients should be able to:
- Apply analysis in a secure coding application development environment
- Discuss secure coding standards to protect computing applications and systems
- Discuss computer application threats and the appropriate incident response, to include designs, defenses, countermeasures, and computer application forensics
- Apply skills necessary for secure coding with object-oriented application standards, designs and development
