HIS 259 - Modern Middle East HI1 3 Credit Hour(s) • 45 Contact Hours (Lecture) Prerequisite: CCR 092 Focuses the political, economic, social, and cultural development of the Middle East from the late Ottoman Empire to the present. It explores the influences of Islam as well as Western ideas and involvement upon institutions of modern Middle Eastern society, and reflects the multiple perspectives of gender, class, and ethnic groups.
