MAT 050 - Quantitative Literacy


4 Credit Hour(s) • 60 Contact Hours (Lecture)
Prerequisite:  Next Gen Accuplacer Arithmetic score of 255, and co-requisite AAA 109 . If students opt out of testing, they will take MAT 020  concurrently
Develops number sense and critical thinking strategies, introduce algebraic thinking, and connect mathematics to real world applications. Topics in the course include ratios, proportions, percents, measurement, linear relationships, properties of exponents, polynomials, factoring, and math learning strategies. This course prepares students for MAT 120 - Mathematics for the Liberal Arts MA1 , MAT 135 , MAT 155 , MAT 156 , and college level career math courses.
