FRE 1001 Conversational French I 3 Credits
Introduces beginning students to conversational French and focuses on understanding and speaking French. Covers basic vocabulary, grammar, and expressions that are used in daily situations and in travel.
FRE 1011 French Language I: GT-AH4 5 Credits
Develops students’ interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational communicative abilities in the language. This course integrates these skills with the study of the cultures in which the language is used. Offers a foundation in the analysis of culture and develops intercultural communicative strategies.
FRE 1012 French Language II: GT-AH4 5 Credits
Expands students’ interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational communicative abilities in the language. This course integrates these skills with the study of the cultures in which the language is used. Offers a foundation in the analysis of culture and develops intercultural communicative strategies.
FRE 2011 French Language III: GT-AH4 3 Credits
Continues the development of increased functional proficiency at the intermediate level in speaking, aural comprehension, reading, writing, and cultural competency in the French language. This course is conducted predominantly in French. This is a statewide Guaranteed Transfer course in the GT-AH4 category.
Prerequisite(s): FRE 1012 with a minimum grade of C or FRE 110 with a minimum grade of C or Prior College French with a score of 1012 or Webcape French Test with a score of 346 or College Placement French with a score of 2011
FRE 2012 French Language IV: GT-AH4 3 Credits
Continues the development of increased functional proficiency at intermediate mid level in speaking, aural comprehension, reading, writing, and cultural competency in the French language. This course is conducted predominantly in French. This is a statewide Guaranteed Transfer course in the GT-AH4 category.
Prerequisite(s): FRE 2011 with a minimum grade of C or FRE 211 with a minimum grade of C or Prior College French with a score of 2011 or Webcape French Test with a score of 403 or College Placement French with a score of 2012
